About the Independent Beer Awards
The Indies Awards, now ten years young, is made by indies for indies
Our national awards are a unique, annual celebration of the best of the best independent craft beers, their artisan producers and the people who serve and support our industry.
The competition is offered by a dedicated Board, led by an exceptionally qualified Advisory Committee, overseen by a highly experienced Head Judge and more than 50 of the best judges from Australia & New Zealand. All delivered by a hardworking and passionate team with the support of our highly valued stewards. The vast majority of which are volunteers!
We differ from other beer competitions in Australia not only because the Awards are run by a membership organisation but also because the benefit for entrants continues well past the night of the ceremony.
By setting the standards of the competition high and pursuing excellence in quality the Independent Beer Awards form an integral part of our mission to driving consumers to understand the medal/trophy process when considering their purchase and to always #AskforIndieBeer.
