In the 2025-2026 financial year, the Independent Brewers Association has been proud to deliver on many initiatives and projects for its members and the wider industry.

As a direct result of this work, the IBA saw an increase in membership renewals in FY25-26 over the previous year – around an 8.5% increase overall. This increase demonstrates that members are willing to continue their membership with the IBA, despite many economic challenges and cost restraints.

Member numbers also grew steadily, with 38 new members joining the IBA in FY25-26, with the association now having 405 members in total: 344 Brewery Members, 59 Associate Members and two members joining under the recently introduced True Indie Supporter category.

Last week, the IBA announced that on July 1st the excise remission scheme increased by $50,000 for every brewery in the country. This represents up to a $30,950,000 injection of real money into the supply chain thanks to the advocacy work of the IBA.

The Board also confirmed last month that Sabrina Kunz, who took over the CEO role in an interim capacity in October 2025, would continue permanently, representing further stability for the IBA.

If you know a brewery that should be a member of the IBA, put them in touch at membership@iba.org.au.
