IBA Builds on Success with New Board

This week, the IBA held its 2024-2025 Annual General Meeting. The AGM was an opportunity to celebrate the associations wins over the past 12 months, reflect on the challenges and discuss the path forward.

The IBA achieved a significant amount for its 427 members with its small team of Kylie Lethbridge, Sabrina Kunz and Emily Doughty. Most notably of course, the $50,000 remission increase delivering real money into the hands of every brewery across the country.

Since the end of the financial year there have been several big changes to the team structure with Sabrina Kunz moving into the helm and the addition of Jono Outred and Chrissie Georgie. These changes are now complimented with the election of three new Board Directors at the AGM – Faith Wignall (The Grifter Brewing Company, NSW), Kylie Ind (Woolstore Brewery, SA) and Kyle Pearson (Alice Springs Brewery, NT). The membership also re-elected Evin Craney who has now served on the Board for over three years.

Faith, Kylie and Kyle join our reelected Chair Evin Craney, all sitting alongside existing Board members Tom Champion (Deputy Chair), Paul Maley and Hamish Coates.

Together the new look IBA are committed to moving forward not only with our quality Independent Beer Everywhere mission, but we are also striving to “bring the joy back into indie beer” after what has been a tumultuous few years for the industry. While there is still plenty of hard work to be done, the IBA is proud of our efforts over the past 12-months and what we have been able to achieve.

We also want to acknowledge and thank Helen Black for her contribution as she stepped down at this AGM.
