At the Annual General Meeting on 28 November 2024, IBA members elected Hamish Coates, and also returned Callum Reeves to the Board of Directors.

Hamish Coates is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Rocky Ridge Brewing Co. Rocky Ridge has its foundations firmly in Margaret River WA, but recently expanded to Brunswick East in Melbourne and is soon to open their Perth TapHouse in Duncraig.

Anyone who knows Hamish, knows that he is passionate about environmental responsibility, and the opportunity for the brewing industry to decrease its footprint, in an economical and viable way.

“Our industry is at a pivotal moment, one which will define our future growth and development. In joining the board of the IBA, I wish to help to shape the future of our industry, with a long term view to the success of independent brewers in Australia. I believe that now more than ever we need an eye to the long term, sustainable development of our industry.

I believe in continuing to foster strong connections; working with growers, processors and suppliers to foster stronger, more resilient supply chains, that will serve us and our industry better into the future.” said Hamish.

The Board will meet in the next couple of weeks to elect the Chair and Deputy Chair for 2024/25, but until that time Callum will continue to lead the team, as he has done since April 2024.
