IBA Responds to South Australian CDS Consultation

1 November 2024

On behalf of our members, the IBA has made a submission to the South Australian Government on proposed changes to the draft amendment Bill.

The cost and burden of container deposit schemes continues to be a frustration we hear from our members each week. In this submission you will see that we were very clear that the consultation failed to meet our expectations.

We also reiterated that any changes to the SA should be to see it move closer to other states as national harmonization remains the goal this includes having all beverage containers (like wine and spirits) included rather than just beer.

Members are encouraged to read the full submission and share with relevant employees – as the CDS remains a significant cost of doing business.
