We are so grateful, and proud, of our members that took the time to contact their MP’s last week. Many more of you reached out wanted to take action- and thank you for trusting our process! We know that our collective voice is having an impact.

Its fair to say our members want to have a conversation about excise and we are so pleased that government are being pushed to come to the table for the conversation.

Based on today’s (Monday 12 August 2024) Daily Program, Mr Conahan MP for Cowper will present his motion at around 5:20pm (Canberra Time). We understand that there will be around eight members of parliament speaking to the need for immediate measures to address cost of living for the domestic beer industry and also to commence work to develop sensible tax and policy reform for beer.

We know there are solutions out there that keeps Australian independent breweries alive, supports the responsible consumption of beer, and addresses the social and health impacts of risky and excessive drinking behaviours. We look forward to continuing the conversation once it has been kicked off today.
